Zoster Vaccine
What is it?
A single dose to be vaccinated for shingles.
Why?
Shingles (Herpes Zoster) is caused by the varicella zoster virus, the same virus that causes chicken pox. After a person recovers from chickenpox, the virus stays in the body in a dormant state. Herpes zoster is not cause by the same virus that causes genital herpes.
