The providers at Fort HealthCare Ear Nose & Throat are pleased to welcome William Hofmann, MD to their family of care. Hofmann has made his home in Whitewater and specializes in otolaryngology treatment, with a special interest in sinus, neck and ear surgery.
A University of Cincinnati College of Medicine graduate, Hofmann works to develop an individualized treatment plan for each patient. “I was taught that the most effective weapon in treating a problem is a careful patient history,” he says. “Not everyone responds to treatment the same way, so my goal is to work closely with each individual to develop a care plan that works for them.”
Medicine is a family affair for Hofmann, whose father is also an otolaryngologist, and whose wife is an optometrist. He especially enjoys caring for kids, because common procedures can have such an enormous impact on their lives. “Hearing a patient tell me their child has improved is always a highlight for me,” he says.
Hofmann is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology, the American Medical Association, and the Illinois State Medical Association. He was accepted as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons in 2008. Outside of work, his family is the center of his attention. “We chose Whitewater as our home because we really like the small-town community feeling while still having access to all the university offerings,” Hofmann says. “Our son is enrolled in school here and we are looking forward to being active in the community.” In his spare time, Hofmann enjoys cooking, photography and travel.
