Fort HealthCare Welcomes New VP of Nursing, Chief Nursing Officer

Fort HealthCare is pleased to announce the appointment of Marie Wiesmann as Vice President of Nursing Services/Chief Nursing Officer. Marie had served as the interim leader in that role for 10 months prior to accepting the position.

“Marie possesses considerable knowledge of Fort HealthCare’s strategies and operational priorities. She has impressive leadership skills and the energy to drive our mission and vision,” says Mike Wallace, President and CEO. “She is passionate about making sure the organization goes the extra mile to serve our patients. Her history of project management has resulted in improved clinical outcomes and patient care experiences.” Wiesmann is responsible for the day-to-day operation of nursing services at the hospital and for developing and implementing strategy and corporate policies to ensure quality care that exceed the expectations of the patients and their families.

Over the course of 40 years, Wiesmann has served in various leadership roles at Fort HealthCare including positions in clinical nursing, education and most recently as Director of Quality and Risk Management. She serves as the current Chair on the Jefferson County Public Health Board, and formerly held a board position on the Jefferson County Literacy Council Board of Directors. She also held committee member positions on the Safe Routes to School Committee and Fort Memorial Hospital Foundation’s Women Who Care. Wiesmann earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Viterbo University and is CPHQ (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality). Wiesmann is a Fort Atkinson native. She and her husband have three children and three grandchildren.
