Locally-grown produce at Fort HealthCare Farmers Market

Despite the ongoing winter, fresh vegetables are beginning to appear and will be ready this month. Every Wednesday, from 2:30-5:00 p.m., Peggy Boshard of Peace of Eden Farm will be selling locally-grown veggies on the Mezzanine at Fort Memorial Hospital. Enter through the revolving doors on Armenia Street for the easiest access. The season will kick off with spinach, arugula, mixed greens and herbs.

Unlike some roadside farm stands that bring in items in from other regions, Peace of Eden Farm sells only what has grown at their farm, just west of Fort Atkinson on Trieloff Road.

Boshart’s interest in agriculture started at a young age while working alongside her parents in the garden or with animals. She continued to explore plants and animals through her own garden, 4-H and eventually studied biology and agriculture at the college level. While Peggy enjoyed helping others, she always hoped to make a business of farming in her home town of Fort Atkinson. Starting small but growing every year, Boshart uses all-natural techniques for growing a wide variety of great-tasting, fresh-picked vegetables. Her most recent addition is a large hoop-house, allowing Boshart to grow vegetables year-round.
