Fort HealthCare is committed to improving the health and well-being of our community. We encourage everyone to explore opportunities for self-enhancement. These new fitness classes beginning in August and other offerings can help.
Boot Camp: Boot Camp alternates from circuit to station to group training, without one class being the same! You will learn proper form and increase your strength while incorporating cardio to raise your heart rate and feel the burn. Boot Camp is instructed at all levels of fitness and ages. New sessions begin Monday, August 6 at 5:15 p.m., Tuesday, August 7 at 3:45 p.m. or Thursday, August 9 at 4 p.m. at Fort Memorial Hospital.
Cardio Kickboxing: An energized approach to kickboxing with intervals of cardio with kicks, punches, twists and bends available for all levels of fitness. You can expect to gain flexibility, strength and balance while increasing your heart rate to burn fat. Sessions begin Monday, August 6 at 4 p.m. or Thursday, August 9 at 5:15 p.m. at Fort Memorial Hospital.
Glutes & Abs: A fun and challenging way to tighten and tone everything in your core (abs and lower back) and ‘posterior’ region. Sessions begin Tuesday, August 7 at 11:30 a.m. or 5 p.m., Thursday, August 9 at 11:30 a.m. or Wednesday, August 22 at 6:15 p.m. at Fort Memorial Hospital.
No Nonsense, Low Impact Workout: No fancy footwork! Moves are fun, easy to follow and easy on the joints. Increase your aerobic capacity, strength, balance and metabolism by combining moves from yoga, Pilates, basic calisthenics and martial arts. Classes will vary each week and options will be given so you can work at your own level. 6-week sessions begin Tuesday, August 7 at 6 p.m., Wednesday, August 8 at 9:45 a.m. or Thursday, August 9 at 5:45 a.m. at Fort Memorial Hospital.
Step Aerobics: This class consists of choreographed step patterns. You’ll challenge your mind and body as you burn calories! The intensity of your workout is determined by the speed, travel and execution of your movements. This class is recommended for anyone with group fitness class experience. Classes beginWednesday, August 8 at 3:45 p.m. at Fort Memorial Hospital.
Yoga: Participants will develop the fundamentals of connecting breath to yoga postures, techniques to release tension and strength training and flexibility. Prior experience is not required. Classes begin Monday, August 6 at 9:45 a.m. or 6 p.m. or Tuesday, August 7 at 4:30 p.m. at Fort Memorial Hospital.
Zumba®: Ditch the workout – Join the Party! This fitness oriented six week party fuses cardio workouts with a Latin flavor in easy to follow dance routines with intervals of body toning. The dance moves create a dynamic calorie burning workout. Join the "Best Fitness Party" in town! Don’t know what Zumba® is? Check out www.zumba.com. Classes begin Monday, August 6 – Thursday, August 9 at 7 p.m. at Fort HealthCare Therapy & Sport Clinic (1504 Madison Avenue).
Express Classes: Fort HealthCare offers 30 minute express classes over the lunch hour designed to help you de-stress, get your heart pumping and body moving! Classes include Boot Camp Express beginning Monday, August 6 or Friday, August 10 at 11:30 a.m., Cardio Kickboxing Express beginning Monday, August 6 or Friday, August 10 at 12:15 p.m. Step Aerobics Express beginning Tuesday, August 7 or Thursday, August 9 at 12:15 p.m. and Yoga Express beginning Wednesday, August 8 at Noon. All classes are held at Fort Memorial Hospital.
