PADA and Local MATC Campus Holding Collection Drive

Tuesday, February 2, 2010

People Against Domestic & Sexual Abuse (PADA) of Jefferson County is teaming up with students from Madison Area Technical College’s Fort Atkinson campus for a collection drive. Students are collecting cash donations, toiletries and art supplies though Thursday, February 18. Monetary donations and toiletries will be used to help support victims of domestic and/or sexual abuse. Art supplies will be used for a proposed art therapy program to help victims cope.

Donation boxes and collection jars are located at Fort Memorial Hospital, Fort Atkinson and Watertown Madison Area Technical College (MATC) campuses, and businesses throughout the Jefferson County area. An open house collection event will be held on February 18 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Fort Atkinson MATC campus. Join PADA and MATC for this free, fun event featuring hands on art therapy projects, refreshments and information about PADA services.

PADA provides a 24-hour crisis line, individual counseling, support groups, legal advocacy, sexual assault advocate program, medical advocacy, linkage to other community resources, community education and emergency housing to the people of Jefferson County. PADA is an excellent resource for individuals that need domestic and sexual abuse support. Please support this important community collection drive and event.
