Tar Wars poster winner, Quinn Borchert, Lake Mills
Monday, October 17, 2011
Fort HealthCare School Nurses work year-round to teach local elementary students that smoking is a dangerous choice. Part of communicating that message is holding the annual Tar Wars poster contest in conjunction with the Great American Smokeout. The Tar Wars program is funded through Tomorrow’s Hope and reaches eight districts. The 2011 winner of the poster contest is Quinn Borchert, an 11-year-old student at Prospect Elementary School in Lake Mills. She is pictured with her winning poster and sisters Calla, age 10 and Kaitlin, age seven. Her poster is a portrait of a young girl with healthy lungs saying, “Beautiful inside and out. I’m a non-smoker!”
