Thursday, September 13, 2018

As of October 1, three of Fort HealthCare’s pediatric providers from the Fort HealthCare Internal Medicine & Pediatrics clinic in Fort Atkinson will provide additional coverage for routine, same-day illness, and non-emergency appointments for infants, children, and adolescents at the Fort HealthCare Johnson Creek clinic. The clinic is located at 400 Doctors Court in Johnson Creek, Wis., where new patients of all ages are always welcome.

While Fort HealthCare already has several established primary care (family practice) clinics in the region that also provide care for infants and children of all ages in Cambridge, Lake Mills, Jefferson, Johnson Creek, Fort Atkinson, and surrounding areas, the pediatric specialist team is adding more opportunities for convenient access to care for the growing families in neighboring communities.

Catherine Sweeney, MD, Heidi Jennrich, APNP and Lauren Mayer, APNP are joining David Misorski, MD, and Joni Sund, PA on Mondays through Thursdays, seeing patients by appointment between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Family medicine is available Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Existing Fort HealthCare patients may request an appointment online through their MyCompass patient portal, and all persons can contact the Johnson Creek clinic at (920) 699-4000 to request an appointment.

Dr. Sweeney enjoys the whole spectrum of general pediatric care, from birth through adolescence, promoting healthy living every step of the way. “I love pediatrics because I get to work (and play!) with kids. I find it incredibly rewarding to watch children grow and develop, and to build lasting relationships with them and their families. I love being able to provide anticipatory guidance to patients and parents, whether that’s through the course of development or the course of an illness.” Outside of work, Dr. Sweeney enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, and enjoys reading, hiking, and travel.”

Heidi Jennrich, APNP is both a healthcare provider and a health educator, with an emphasis on teaching families the importance of exercise and nutrition, and helping them find ways to incorporate healthy habits into daily living. “All of our lives are busy, chaotic and stressful. It is really hard as a parent to make sure we are making our kids eat balanced meals every day, getting enough sleep, exercising outside of school and emotionally meeting all their needs as well as all of ours. I continue to teach classes outside of the clinic so I can help families find the balance between nutrition and exercise that they can sustain long term.” Heidi enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, and also finds time to nurture her creative side through sewing and crocheting, as well as many other activities.

Lauren Mayer, APNP chose pediatrics in order to work with children in a meaningful way.  “I enjoy partnering with parents and children to help shape healthy lifestyles. It is an honor to be able to work with families as their children grow.” Lauren is very interested in preventive care, helping parents and children understand how to be proactive in making healthy decisions. She has specific interest in guiding patients and family through the stages of child development.

“When not working I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love being outdoors and am always up for an adventure.”
