JEFFERSON – The Jefferson ½ Mile ATV Club is thrilled to announce the extraordinary success of the 6th Annual Save the Racks Ride, which took place on Saturday, October 7th. This year’s event grew by almost 100 riders bringing together 212 participants from 25 communities as far away as Appleton. Even more remarkable, the ride raised $52,022 to support the Fort HealthCare Mammogram Voucher Program, up from $31,000 in 2022. “We are very grateful to the Jefferson ½ Mile ATV Club. Their support has been so valuable and allowed us to grow this essential cancer screening program. Last year, these funds provided 73 vouchers to women needing this important screening. The Mammogram Voucher Program, which was started at Fort HealthCare in 2008, has provided hundreds of mammograms to women in need and we are delighted to continue our partnership with this generous local club,” shared Lisa Jensen, Vice President of Nursing Services and Chief Nursing Officer.

The “Save the Racks Ride” has become a beloved annual tradition in Jefferson County, supporting breast health. The event is dedicated to raising funds for the Fort HealthCare Mammogram Voucher Program that allows our uninsured and underinsured community members to receive screening mammograms free-of-charge. The program ensures that everyone has access to early breast cancer detection.  In addition, because of the tremendous success of this event this year, the program will expand to include vouchers for follow-up procedures, ultrasounds and more.

The success of this year’s ride can be attributed to the incredible support and participation from the community, as well as the dedicated members of the Jefferson ½ Mile ATV Club. Thanks to their hard work and the generosity of sponsors and donors, the event’s lofty fundraising goal was exceeded!

John Drake, President of the Jefferson ½ Mile ATV Club, expressed the club’s gratitude for the community’s overwhelming support, saying, “We are overjoyed with the response we received this year. It’s incredible to see how our community comes together to support such a vital cause. We are proud to have not only met but exceeded our goal, and we know that these funds will make a meaningful impact on the lives of those in need.”

The “Save the Racks Ride” is a fun-filled scenic ride through Jefferson County that includes stops at local establishments, raffles, and silent auctions. The event not only raises funds for a critical cause but also helps spread awareness about the importance of breast health and early detection.

The Jefferson ½ Mile ATV Club would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all the riders, sponsors, volunteers, and community members who made this event possible. This year’s success would not have been possible without your dedication and generosity. Next year’s event is tentatively planned for Saturday, October 5, 2024.
