Fort HealthCare Welcomes Clinical Psychologist, Colleen Mitchell, Psy. D.

Mitchell-Colleen-dirFort HealthCare is pleased to welcome a new clinical psychologist to its team of providers. Colleen Mitchell, Psy. D. joins the staff at the Fort HealthCare Cambridge and Lake Mills clinics, seeing patients by appointment through Fort HealthCare’s Integrated Behavioral Health Services.

Dr. Mitchell received her training at Adler University in Chicago. Regarding her medical practice philosophy, she states, “In my role as a clinical psychologist, I have the privilege and responsibility to build trusting relationships with clients. I have the opportunity to facilitate change that empowers individuals to reach their potential. Meeting the needs of clients contributes greatly to their overall well-being, and goes a long way in keeping our communities healthy and safe.”

Based on the principal that mind and body wellness go hand in hand, and that emotional health is critical to good physical health, an integrated approach to care is offered through Fort HealthCare Integrated Behavioral Health Services. The program provides solution-focused strategies to address behavioral health needs, coordinating care with a person’s primary care team.

Appointments can be made through a referral by your primary care physician, or you can self-refer, depending upon your insurance requirements.
