Medical Practice
Bonnie Poppy, APNP, AGNP-C, chose primary care because she values the opportunity to support her patients in taking a proactive role in their health by focusing on prevention and wellness. She takes the time to understand not only their current medical concerns but also the personal and lifestyle factors that influence their overall well-being.
“I enjoy primary care because it allows me to build meaningful, long-term relationships with my patients. I find it rewarding to support them not only during times of illness, but also by educating them on preventive care and overall wellness. I appreciate the holistic nature of primary care, where I can consider the full picture of someone’s health—including lifestyle, mental health, and social factors. Every day is different, and I like the variety and continuity that come with caring for individuals and families over time.”
After 20 years of hospital nursing experience, Bonnie has a particular interest in cardiology. She is also interested in preventive medicine, chronic disease management, and women’s health. She integrates these into her everyday practice to provide more personalized, comprehensive care.
Personal Interests
Outside of work, Bonnie enjoys outdoor activities like kayaking and hiking with her daughter and their dog. She regularly volunteers with her community church, including participating in mission trips.
