Our Healing Breast Care Center

When something is found during a routine screening, it can be a confusing and scary time. To help ease this stress, Fort HealthCare has a designated Breast Care Coordinator to support you.

Helping You Heal From Within

We believe that specialized care produces results and helps you heal faster – reducing recovery time, pain, numbness, stiffness, scar formation, stress, and other possible effects of breast cancer treatment. Our specialized care helps you increase your flexibility, circulation, lymphatic drainage – and healing.

We provide a wide range of services including pre- and post-operative care, Breast Patient Navigation, Lymphedema Precautions, scar care, exercise, massage, and a survivorship support system. Our team of professionals works together with you to help you heal from within.

Our Registered Occupational Therapists, certified in breast care and lymphedema treatment, work with you to provide customized services, including therapeutic exercise, manual lymphatic drainage, lymphedema management, hands-on pain and stiffness reduction, self-massage training for scar reduction, and certified compression garment fitting. Our Registered Massage Therapist offers therapeutic lymphatic massage along with other massage therapies. Our Breast Care Navigator is a Registered Nurse who works with you to provide support, education, and as a resource for referrals as needed.

The Fort HealthCare Healing Breast Care Center is located in the Fort Memorial Hospital Rehab Department on the Ground Floor. The hospital is located at 611 Sherman Avenue East in Fort Atkinson (easiest to find when entering through the Armenia Street entrance). The Center can be reached by phone at 920-568-5299 with office hours on Tuesday, Thursday, and Fridays.

Fort Memorial Hospital Imaging (Radiology) Department

Fort HealthCare Imaging (Radiology) provides convenient access to early, state-of-the-art detection screenings and follow-up programs. If someone needs a more specific diagnostic mammogram or breast ultrasound they receive immediate results from a radiologist that specializes in mammography. The radiologist also provides education and recommendations for further treatment and follow up care if needed, and our Breast Care Coordinator is available to offer support and assist with scheduling further treatment.

Visit your Fort HealthCare Primary Care office, the Jefferson County Health Department, or Rock River Free Clinic, where vouchers for free mammograms are available for those who qualify.
