When an injury, illness, or traumatic life situation presents itself, you can be confident you are receiving the best care, close to home with your rehabilitation at Fort HealthCare’s Therapy and Sport Centers. Using state of the art equipment in combination with evidence-based practices, our highly skilled therapists will work with you on an individual basis.
With years of experience, our staff includes physical therapists, occupational therapists, athletic trainers, and speech therapists. We work as a team to ensure the best possible outcome and experience, occasionally bringing multiple therapists into one patient session to ensure all patient needs are being established and met. For example, a patient coming for a sports injury may be referred from an athletic trainer to an occupational therapist, but then will also work with physical therapy to ensure their technique is appropriate before return to sport. The same may be true with a patient who has a wrist or arm injury as a result of a fall, that they would begin with occupational therapy for treatment of their injury but then finish with a physical therapist for strategies on improving their balance. In this way, we strive for a detailed and optimal patient experience at all of our Therapy & Sport Center locations. By having all of the rehabilitation disciplines within one building, we can be sure to refer to one another when it is necessary for thorough patient care.
On your first day of therapy plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early at your chosen Therapy & Sport Center location. You will be greeted by a friendly face that will go through the registration process including reviewing insurance documentation (please bring your insurance card) and personal information including workplace and contact information.
You will then be introduced to your primary therapist who will complete an evaluation (takes about 60 minutes) to determine what your concerns and needs are in relation to your desired outcome. Your therapist will collaborate with you to develop an individualized treatment plan which will include person-specific goals based on your input.
Please dress comfortably for this first therapy visit, with appropriate footwear for your condition (running shoes if your injury is running specific, athletic shoes for the majority of the population with adequate support, etc).
Please call the clinic or use your MyCompass account for all routine requests. If you have a compliment or concern, please feel free to email our manager.
